In the next 12 months we envisage to expand egg production from 1350 trays of eggs a day to 6000 trays a day. The expansion will obtain at the Makeni site.
It is also desirable to note that Farm Select
has the capacity to rear 492,000 point-of-lay hens annually on the two farms.
This has assisted the Zambian market to drive the price of point-of-lay hen
from a high of K150 to K125. Prices are coming down because of the efficiency
of integration, economies of scale, supply chain management and expertise in
production.
